November 11, 2006

This post is not what you probably think a November 11th post will be about . . .
Today is the One Year Anniversary of Ella beginning to walk!!!

That's all we really wanted to say . . . what a long, happy ending journey . . . here are the pictures.

It's hard to remember when her feet actually looked like this . . .

This is after one week in casts.

These last two are from after her surgery - the first day we took her casts off and got to see her new fixed feet :)

And now she runs and hops and jumps (even with two feet!) and is learning to gallop! ~ hijack ~ can I just say, not such a fan of her jumping and hopping and jumping off stairs and stuff - lots of trouble to get those little feet to work ~ hijack over ~
Even though it sounds totally cheesy we want to thank God for helping us through this and helping Ella AND we want to thank Dr. Mosca for his dedication and patience and persevering even when it wasn't "supposed" to work this way.

So glad you put up the video of her walking for the first time. We were never able to download when we had DIAL-UP. It's amazing what difference a year has wrought. But I don't think it sounds cheesy at all to thank God, who was with you every step of the way.\,,/ Nonna Marianne and Grandpa

That's my Granddaughter(s) alright, pretty soon they will be telling mom and dad which way to turn to get to the nearest Starbucks.
