Are you a Girl?

Today was a very good day. We went out to breakfast and had great food in a great location. We ate in an old Pullman train car, Ella totally got a kick out of that, she's really into trains these days.

Then, I got a package from my Secret Santa, well actually I got it Friday but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to open it or not, so I got the go-ahead from her this morning. WOW! She does beautiful work!!! Seriously, I'll post a picture later to show off. Plus, a gift card to Bath and Body Works - now, how cool is that? Does she know me or what?!?! The sorry thing is that now I think I could re-create in some form what she sent - would I ever to think do this on my own? No. But, can I copy what she's done and make a reasonable facsimile? Probably. The work I can do, the creating of the project...not so much.

I also made a trip to the craft store today to get more Christmas ornaments - Sam thinks we have enough but I think we needed a few more (or more than a few more-whatever)

Lastly, prepare yourselves...this is a good one. So, I finished Anna's bath, finished Ella's bath and bring her downstairs for dinner (which Sam cooked, another part of a good day). Sam has this thing about doing silly things to make Ella laugh. So, tonight he put a ponytail holder in his hair, right smack on the top of his head. Ella looks at him, looks again, "Dad, what do you have?"
"Ella what do I have?"
"Dad, you have a ponytail in your hair. Are you a girl?"

Oh my word, I almost died laughing. Sam took the ponytail out.
Interesting to us, in addition to being so funny that she called her dad a girl, is that this is the first time she's noted gender specificity. She uses pronouns all the time, he, she, his, her so she's noticed gender but we weren't sure how much she realized gender. Evidently enough to know that girls wear ponytails and boys don't. Unless, of course, one of you has told her that only girls wear ponytails.

Oh yeah, I'm supposed to say another good thing about today is that the Seahawks won.

"Are you a girl?" sounds like an almost-Dr-Suess-type thing. I like the larger pics, easier to view on the screen. The girls are MEGA-adorable. But, then, I am a bit disposed to prejudice that way.
Are you buying ornaments for the Christmas tree or decorations for the house? Either way, you can never have enough...just have to buy a bigger tree....you already have the bigger house. Sam is probably thinking, in his straight line fashion - what goes up has to be taken down, probably by me...think of it as good exercise for after the holidays. Taking down Christmas always requires more energy than it requires to put it up. :))) Love, Nonna \,,/ XXXOOO

Just remember sam to get enough totes to repack all of christmas in. I think we are up to 8 totes and M is planning the after Christmas shopping trips for more, more, more. Arrrgh. Great pictures of the girls though.
