okay - I'm a total slacker -

I totally know it - been busy around here. Trying to keep things up and meet people and spend time with two crazy busy kids...

I'll have to post pictures later - My photo ops are kind of limited lately because as soon as I bring out the camera one or both wants to go for it...

So ~ Anna is a little crawly bug - very fast. Has somewhere along the way developed a very nasty temper that comes out of nowhere! BAM! She's mad and screeching...not so fun. But, she is a ton of fun. Getting so big and she's just such a truly happy person, it is absolutely delightful, a little ray of sunshine in our lives! She recently started signing, "all done." Of course so very adorable - and woe to the person that does not heed "all done." (see reference to major temper above) No words yet, but she babbles constantly and knows some words when we talk to her ~ her favorite word being, "Ella."

As for Ella - cannot cannot cannot believe this child is almost three years old! She's a total crack-up and makes us laugh constantly! Here are her recent words of wisdom and she ran past me out of the bathroom onto some big important task, I think she knew what I was going to say before I asked. As she ran out of the bathroom she yells at me, "Pee! Wipe! Wash!" Well - she got the biggies, hmmmm, now, if she would only add flush to the mix ;) Last night we had turkey sandwiches and spinach salad for dinner. Ella will only usually eat her sandwich - unsandwiched - all the pieces are separate...whatever, at least she's eating. So, she has her bread, mayo, provolone, turkey, lettuce - all the fixings for the sandwich on her plate. She asks for some butter. I showed her the mayonaise on her plate and asked if that's what she meant. This is her response to me - verbatim. "May I plllleeease have some butter." "Well, honey, that's mayonaise, do you want mayonaise?" "Um, is this bread?" "Yes, this is bread." "Well, can I have butter for my bread please."

Keeping in mind that during this conversation she had a tone - you know the one - the one where you know your parents have some sort of deficiency. Seriously, she sounded like a little old lady, the ones who complain at the restaurant that their 200 degree coffee is too cold because they can't feel it with their dentures or something - or the people that are offended you didn't know they wanted bread and butter (with their mayo :) )

School's done for the next few months but they have these little language 'camps' they go to and play and do other things besides 'school' stuff in French and Spanish, but those are only every couple of weeks.

Two weeks ago Anna was totally sick, feverish, achey, coughing, nose etc. Last week Ella had all those things - AND pink eye. Her cough was so bad she couldn't sleep or swallow. They gave her codiene cough syrup so she could at least sleep at night. Missed some school and was really sick :( poor little monkeys :( :(
Good news - Ella does not have an extra tooth. We have another appointment in June for her feet - so that's coming up - Wish us luck! Currently (as of last Wednesday) Ella weighs 27 lb. 8 oz. and Anna weighs 20 lbs. 15 1/2 oz. On a side note - anyone know of a place to buy children's bathing suit pieces individually? Or even a place to buy slim toddler pants. Ella is still wearing her 18-24 month shorts but the pants are waaaay waaay too short. Her shirts she's almost a threeT but if the pants fit her in length - they are so short - always high waters - hmmmm...wish I had that problem ;) Either actually - skinny or tall :)

Anna loves to 'play' with Ella - Sam says 'play' is the code word for Mug. Anna always tries to use Ella to stand up - Ella cries, Anna laughs, pulls Ella's pants down. Ella cries more - fun times :) Mom and Dad crack up laughing. Ella plays on the floor, Anna crawls over to kiss and cuddle Ella - not even play with the toys, Anna knocks Ella over, Ella cries, Anna laughs, Mom and Dad crack up. We are sooo not helpful :)

Also - As an FYI - in case anyone is interested. Ella's birthday party is going to be Saturday, June 30. Anna's ONE YEAR (boo hoo hoo :( ) birthday party is going to be Saturday, August 18.

I thought that was the job of all parents - to view with amusement their children's interaction?? Poverina.....poor Ella, she is so put upon, sigh.....\,,/ Nonna Marianne
