Random Thoughts (really really random!)

I have no idea where to begin as I have no idea where I left off. I'll start with the "pertinent" things. My plan is just to write and add some pictures at the end - sorry if there is no real flow...okay, not really sorry but it might make it kind of hard to read.

Ella is now three and a huge crack-up! Really really wants to be potty trained at night but that's hit and miss. She's good some nights but when she's really tired - uh oh! Anna says that constantly! :)

Anna is almost one in a few weeks. She has two actual teeth. Knows three signs, "more," "all done," and, get this, "cheese." Makes us laugh. Asks for freaking cheese at Every Single Meal! She's getting really good and confident with her standing. She will be walking sometime soon.

Very very strange to have 1 year old walking vs. a 1 1/2 year old - much much much less life-sense. No idea how there are 6 billion people or whatever on this planet.

Had a very fun vacation. Spent a lot of good family time - Anna, the poor little thing was miserable the entire week until the very last day! Totally sucked for her. The only two words she's trying to say are, "Ella" and "more." Both important in her life :) The Ella comes out like lllllll-A and more is basically muh. She's gaining a ton of confidence in climbing and doing physical things - liking books more and more.

Ella is getting so close to reading! She's excellent at sounding out words and trying to put them together - she's, obviously, the best at the simple cvc words but she'll get there. The other day, totally out of the blue - as she basically resists anything new that is physical - she drew a picture of a person!!! Shocked Sam and I both! She's never even tried it and then BAM! there it was. She drew it on the whiteboard downstairs so I tried to take some good photos of it... Mind you, it isn't really a good drawing, but I think it was good for her first attempt.

OH! I won two scrapbooking prizes for two of my layouts! One I think was just a drawing, but one was selected! Yeah Me! The layout was supposed to be in the Urban Grunge style - whatever that means. I took it to be kinda dirty looking and I added some crazy non-purposeful metal to it - and it worked! Got paint ALL over my hands though :(

Blitzed through Harry Potter - such a good writer. Sad to be done with Harry but a great story nonetheless. Sam is still reading it and it is driving me CRAZY! I want to talk about it!!!!!

Got back from vacay and as Anna was getting well Sam and Ella (ha ha) were both getting sick and miserable. Ella and I just got a touch of it - not miserable like Sam and Anna. Family is good - house is messy - after a week of Sam being out of comission, regrouping from vacation and then I 'had' to read Harry Potter as soon as UPS dropped it off at my door - things are looking up though - look, I have free time to type inane things on our blog :)

okay I think that's enough of my s.o.c. so I'll post cute pics of two adorable little girls and call it a night.

good night!

- this is Anna enjoying herself on her very last day at the beach! She loved that swing set!!!! Click on the photo and you'll see it closer up. I should just crop it so that it's a better framed image for the blog - more of a close-up, but I'm not going to right now.

Seriously - is this the cutest baby ever?!?!?! P.S. - if you think its not, you're wrong - yes you are. Yes she is!

Here are Ella's people drawings - the one with the Giant Head is me. If you click the photo they'll pop up as larger images. The green little guy is Sam - she was obviously done with this activity. Makes me think back to all I learned in Art Therapy at school ...At least I'm smiling - she pointed that out to us, "Mom you have a really big mouth and you are smiling." Remember - I never claimed they were good drawings, we were just impressed she tried to do A-N-Y-THING with her fine motor.

Ella mini-golfing kind of...She didn't really want to golf, but she really wanted to go on the pedal boats. We made her golf anyway - wasn't so fun for us and we ended up leaving early, did the pedal boats the next day.

This is the layout I won a prize for, under the category of Urban Grunge. Soooo not my style at ALL - but it was nice to do something different and fun to do things I would normally not do - like add pieces of metal just 'cuz. BTW - which baby is it?

YAY!! Congrats on winning the scrapbooking prizes!!! Woohoo!
I still think it's Ella on the layout - just from her eyes, Anna's are not quite the same as Ella's.....
