We have the MOST amazing daughters ever!!!
Truly, they are so cool - both of them.
Anna will be running a tad late on her immunizations for 6 months as she has some nasty nasty bug - some variation of what Sam had that took him out of commission for an Entire Week! Poor Girl, so she can't get her shots just yet.
There was a point to this, be patient and let me get there: So, as we're driving to the Dr. office (whole 'nother issue - I actually had to get Ella out of bed to make Anna's appt - to which we were late :( and Ella was still wearing her shoes and bar and diaper and her hair wasn't even combed!)
Anyway...back to our story...We're driving there and I tell Ella where we are going as one of her favorite questions is, "What are we going to do today Mom?" I told her we were taking Anna to the dr. because she is sick. No response to this until a few minutes later I hear her talking, very quietly (not sure if she wanted me to hear as when I asked her what she was saying, she told me she was talking to Anna) So this is what I heard: "It's okay Anna. We're going to Dr. Thompson's. He's really nice. He will help you. And then you will get a little poke on your leg. That's okay Anna, it won't hurt. Then you will get a band-aid and it will feel all better. It's okay Anna, you'll be alright. I can help you Anna. You'll be okay."
Now seriously, how cute is that? She is so sweet and so concerned and just wants to help everyone. I know the helping out is typical two-year old behavior but I love it when she reassures Anna. It is the most wonderful thing to hear - honestly, it ranks right up there with baby laughing and hearing, "I love you Mom." It really doesn't get much better.
Now - At Anna's visit they did weigh her -
Any guesses?
At all?
She's six months old, and currently weighs 18.3 lbs.!!!!! Yikes!!! NO wonder she needs all that formula and food! In context, at one year Ella weighed 18 lbs. On the bright side - Anna has a TON of clothes to take with us to Disney :) In going through the clothes we can absolutely tell when Terrie discovered she enjoyed Gymboree - at around 6 months, which were Ella's nine month clothes. Anna is one well-dressed lady (well, actually both of them are - but Anna especially so as she has all of Ella's hand me downs)
Ella is about over the moon with excitement to go to Mickey Mouse's house. She's just started enjoying dress up clothes - (right on schedule behind Ains. if you check out the post about Ainsley's third birthday) and princesses. Both of these are very recent developments - I can absolutely track the dress to Figure Skating, not sure when the princesses started outranking Dora? Oh yeah, and Polly Pocket. How is she such a GIRL?!?!?!?
Anna is rolling and sitting and smiling and has just started laughing a ton! That baby laugh is so stinkin' cute...I can get her full blown chuckle just by making faces at her and she'll do things to make us laugh like bat at our faces or try to put her fingers in our mouths.
Another car story from today - after school we went to the grocery store and then home - meaning Anna has been in and out of the car from about 9:-12: - she hates the car even worse than Ella ever did - despises it in fact. Decidedly fussy, she's sick, not feeling well, not eating well, not sleeping well - waaaay over-tired, on and on with things wrong with her. We're driving home from our errands and Anna is crying. Ella starts to comfort her, telling her, "I've got you Anna, I understand Anna, you'll be okay, we're almost home Anna." All kinds of nice stuff to help Anna relax and then shouts, "Hey, I can sing Anna a song!" Ella then proceeds to Make Up a song to sing to Anna - too too cute. The best part was that Anna actually calmed down and when Ella quit singing she started crying again so Ella sang some more and Anna actually fell asleep! Melissa has told us for years that the best car toy is a sibling :)
One last random story: Ella was "teaching" Anna how to blow raspberries. They were getting a kick out of it for a few days and then it was over with. Now Anna won't even do raspberries or stick out her tongue or anything for Sam and I. This is where it is super cute - lately whenever Anna sees Ella after not having seen her for a while, like while Ella takes a nap or something - that's how Anna greets her - with a big raspberry, a Huge smile and kicking kicking legs. These girls love each other so very much.
